As we age we find ourselves in a complex situation. We move from being parents of our children to being caregivers for our parents. Depending on how close we live to our parents, we sometimes need some help in monitoring their health.
I am sharing some information about Caring.com which is a senior organization that supports caregivers and their families. I have no relationship with them other than the information I will share below.
Having had a mother who suffered and passed from dementia, I know how important caregiving is. It about wore my father and sister out. We had purchased a medical alert devices for both of my parents to use, so I know how important they are, not only to their peace of mind, but to the family.
I hope you can find this information useful.
The CDC states falls among older adults are extremely common with an estimated 2.5 million older adults treated for fall injuries in the U.S. every year. An estimated 25,000 of those fall injuries result in death. Justifiably so, 8 out of 10 caregivers are worried about fall prevention for their loved ones. So we have made it our mission to research personal emergency response systems and other assistive technology to find ones that truly enhance the lives of seniors by coupling an independent lifestyle with safety and peace of mind.
